Mélange | The Story of us

 

 

Robin Spiegelman and Shara Witkin share a love of fine food, great wine, and culinary adventure! Their lust for fine food and passion for gourmet cooking have lead Robin & Shara to pool their collective talents and launch Mélange. They hope to share their passion with aspiring chef’s and food lover alike.

 

Robin’s passion for cooking began during her junior year abroad in Bologna, Italy.  “Whatever you do in Italy, learn to cook!” was Robin’s mother’s single edict. Robin took this to heart and spent the next year cooking and sharing wonderful meals with the great friends she made in Italy. 

Robin pursued her passion in San Francisco where she attended Tante Maries Cooking School (named as the #1 American cooking school by Bon Appetit magazine in 2006!)  Robin taught cooking and baking classes at Tante Maries and Viking Home Chef in San Francisco, and founded her own catering business, Kitchen Girlfriend.  Total personality, Robin brings her passion and a lot of fun to the classroom. Her method is interactive and completely hands on. Best of all, no one ever goes home hungry! 

 

Shara's mother is a gourmet cook and her father is a long time member of the Orange County Food & Wine Society. Needless to say, great food, fine wine and the pursuit of gourmet delights have been commonplace throughout Shara’s life.  In her “past life” Shara spent more then ten years as a practicing attorney. Shara brings her business savvy and a wealth of experience as an attorney into the mix at Mélange as the Director of Business Affairs. Shara will handle all business related operation and affairs for Mélange.
